Patchworks

What if every culture carries echoes of another, stitched softly into the fabric of who we are?

Patchworks is an interactive, immersive exploration of cultural identity and shared curiosity. Born from the collaboration of individuals from four different religions, languages, races, and nations, this project began with one common thread: a deep desire to understand each other’s cultures.

We started with a simple, radical question:
What would the world feel like if our traditions didn’t just coexist but truly merged, evolved, and transformed together?

How it works?

To explore this vision, we used machine learning and immersive space as our canvas.
When a person stands in front of the system, it recognizes them and generates AI-driven visuals unique to their cultural identity—projected live into a reactive environment.

But the real magic happens when we stand together.
In pairs, trios, or all four the machine identifies the individuals and creates a new visual: a speculative image and a detailed promt of what our cultures could become when they harmonize.

It is poetic, playful, and deeply human.

Patchwork is not just a show.
It is an invitation to reimagine identity not as separation, but as a shared, evolving dialogue.
It reminds us that within each of us, there is already a piece of the other.

I’m endlessly grateful for the brilliant minds I had the chance to create with.
To my teammates: thank you for your openness, your stories, and your spirit.
To our mentor The Glad Scientist (Daniel Sabio) — your guidance helped us not only build a system, but a shared vision. It feels safe and secure to work in your guidance. I can’t imagine doing this work without you. Thank you.

Patchwork is a celebration of what we become when we create together.
And this is only the beginning.
